Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.

NCAB Group Now Listed on Swedish Stock Exchange
June 5, 2018 | NCAB GroupEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
NCAB Group, with headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden and with U.S. offices in New Hampshire, Texas, Illinois, California and Washington is now listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. The initial public offering and listing is expected to support NCAB’s future growth and operational strategy, among other things, through improved access to the capital markets as well as a diversified owner base of new Swedish and international shareholders. Nasdaq Stockholm has approved the Company’s application for listing, subject to customary conditions.
“Being listed is a logical step for us now that we have reached sufficient size, profitability and maturity. I am proud of the team at NCAB who has developed the company to a leading business with global reach. The listing is a quality mark which will enable us to attract more and larger customers and make additional acquisitions,” explains NCAB Group CEO Hans Stahl.
NCAB will continue to serve its customers in the same manner and continue to supply PCBs maintaining their ‘quality first’ approach.
Chairman of the NCAB board Christian Salamon states, “It has been great to be part of the growth and development of NCAB since 2007 and to work with the management team and many highly competent employees. There is a culture of technical specialization, teamwork and dedication to customers. I am particularly proud of the high ratings NCAB has in the eyes of its customers as well as from its employees. I also believe the work NCAB is doing in sustainability is an important part of its success.”
About NCAB Group
NCAB is a full-service supplier of PCBs with local presence in 15 countries and sales in 45 countries. NCAB offers a broad range of PCBs which, after receiving a customer order, are sourced from external manufacturers, predominantly located in China. NCAB delivers added value to its customers through its own concept of “Integrated PCB Production”. This concept means that NCAB takes the entire responsibility for the customer – from design support, via prototyping, production and quality control to delivery – as opposed to a basic trader, which generally acts as an outsourced purchasing function. NCAB’s customers interact with NCAB and not with the manufacturers. By using NCAB, the customers can source PCBs, especially in the high-mix low-volume (”HMLV”) segment, more efficiently, and can thus lower the costs for handling purchasing, freight, quality control, returns and claims.
In 2017 NCAB sold approximately 113 million PCBs and revenue for the year amounted to $162M and adjusted EBITA to $13.0M. NCAB was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Marketing Minute: If Your Marketing Budget Gets Cut in Half, Then What?
05/13/2026 | Brittany Martin -- Column: The Marketing MinuteHypothetically, let’s say your marketing budget gets cut in half tomorrow. (I’m stressed just thinking about it!) But here’s the real question: Would your actual marketing strategy change, or just the amount of money behind it? Because those are not the same thing. Markets go up and down. Budgets can tighten. If your entire marketing approach depends on the biggest, flashiest, most expensive options available, that’s not really a strategy. It’s just spending. A strong marketing strategy should remain consistent regardless of spending levels.
It’s Only Common Sense: Complexity Is the Enemy of Profit
05/11/2026 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseComplexity is expensive, but it doesn’t look that way at first. In fact, it often disguises itself as sophistication, flexibility, or customer responsiveness. But peel back the layers, and you’ll find bloated costs, diluted focus, exhausted teams, and shrinking margins. Common sense says that if something is hard to understand, execute, and explain, it is probably hard to make money doing it.

The Chemical Connection: When the Industry Moves Faster Than the Standards
04/29/2026 | Don Ball -- Column: The Chemical ConnectionAs a supplier of wet processing equipment, we have rules and standards we must adhere to, including both regional and national electrical codes and safety and environmental regulations, as well as myriad other standards to make the equipment safe to use. Things are a little different when it comes to rules and standards for manufacturing PCBs, though, because technical advances and requirements change so quickly that standards can’t keep up.
