Prices of LED Package Products Remain Stable

The prices of mainstream LED package products remained stable in the Chinese market for June 2018, says LEDinside, a division of TrendForce.
“Prices of LED package products continued to drop in the past two quarters and remained stable in June”, says LEDinside analyst Terri Wang, “however, the demand in the lighting market remains weak”. In response to the weak lighting and backlight market demand, most manufacturers have turned to niche markets and segments with high technical barriers.
The automotive and special lighting markets are also new blue oceans. In the Chinese automotive lighting market, OSRAM, Lumileds, and Nichia are still the top three in 2017 revenue ranking. Meanwhile, Taiwanese and Chinese manufacturers like Everlight, Honglitronic, and LatticePower, are also deploying actively. In terms of overall revenue, first-tier international manufacturers mainly focus on OE market, while Taiwanese and Chinese manufacturers focus on aftermarket and performance market, aiming to enter the OE market through tail lights.
