Electrolube’s UK and India Operations Collaborate to Develop 12 New Resins
August 16, 2018 | ElectrolubeEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Electrolube has developed 12 new encapsulation resins specifically for the Indian market. Technical experts from Electrolube’s UK and India operations have worked closely to create the new resin products, strategically placed to meet the demands of local manufacturers and the requirements of the Indian government's National Policy on Electronics (NPE).
The NPE, which includes the 'Make in India' and 'Digital India' initiatives, was established in 2012 to support the manufacture of electronic hardware in India with the set-up of over 200 electronics manufacturing 'clusters', benefiting from various government-led incentive schemes. The policy aims to reduce the country's dependence on imports and help it meet burgeoning demand for electronics hardware through domestic innovation and local supply chains.
Using key local knowledge, Electrolube’s Indian team has leveraged group technical support to develop the innovative resin solutions and several of these are to be showcased at this year’s Productronica India. Indeed, the Indian team have identified customers’ requirements in terms of budgetary restraints and production methodologies, and created solutions to fit the brief.
Ron Jakeman, Electrolube’s Group Managing Director, comments, “India has always been an important platform for global companies such as ourselves, and since 2012, Electrolube India has become one of our fastest growing subsidiaries, operating as an independent local enterprise with sales, manufacturing and technical support. Based in Bangalore, Electrolube India provides local manufacturers with innovative, reliable solutions that are readily available on short lead times. We are delighted to announce the collaborative development work that has resulted in 12 new encapsulation resins specifically developed for manufacturers in India. We can effectively ensure that all of our locally manufactured new resin products, made from locally sourced materials, will carry a full ‘seal of approval’ from the UK parent company for quality and innovation meeting internationally recognised standards. One of the distinctive qualities of our global company, is the capacity to really understand market requirements. Our state-of-the-art in-house testing facilities, expert chemists and R&D resources, ensure that we can launch reliable, innovative new products that meet the upcoming demands of our customers.”
Electrolube India has been on board with the government’s policies since their inception and the company’s commitment to serving a strong domestic electronics-manufacturing sector in India is proven by its solid reputation among industry leaders for product innovation, economy and an approach that places the customer centre-stage.
