Alpha Assembly Solutions, the world leader in the production of electronic soldering and bonding materials, has attained International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949:2016 certification for all manufacturing facilities globally that produce products for automotive applications.
“With the key role our organization plays in the production of automotive electronics, it is critical that our facilities transition and standardize our quality management systems to better serve our customers”, said Nick Banis, Vice President of Global Quality & Compliance at MacDermid Performance Solutions, the parent organization to Alpha. “The IATF 16949 standard provides a new framework with additional quality requirements that the automotive industry expects. The core of IATF 16949 is to ensure that suppliers implement and sustain robust systems of control to produce high-quality products with no errors and provide exceptional services on a consistent basis. Emphasis is placed on reduction of variation and waste, defect prevention, and continual improvement in the overall supply chain.”
Certification to IATF 16949 is recognized by leading automotive manufacturers and OEMs worldwide, mainly because it raises the bar on quality expectations. When implemented successfully, the standard creates a culture where employees instinctively strive to fulfill and even exceed customer expectations, and that gives suppliers a competitive advantage within the automotive industry, and other industries as well.
