In a recent SMT007 survey, we asked our readers how inspection has helped them improve their manufacturing process. Here are just a few of the answers, edited slightly for clarity.
John Meyer, Methode Electronics Inc.: "Inspection quickly catches placement defects."
Gregory J. Vance, Rockwell Automation: "Identify defects earlier at the assembly process, enabling the issue(s) to be resolved, reducing the overall quantity of defects long term."
Christopher Jones, Prescient Wireless: "We analyze the inspection data to identify if the manufacturing process needs to be adjusted or if an operator needs to be retrained."
