During a press conference and signing ceremony on December 5, 2018, in Shenzhen, China, the CPCA and HKPCA announced their new partnership to combine their two independent trade show brands into one brand. This means the two events will merge, going by the name International Electronic Circuits Exhibition.
With this announcement, we also learned IPC will not be connected to either show in any formal partnership capacity, but will continue to participate as a guest association.
The newly branded show will still take place twice a year, in Shenzhen in the fall, and in Shanghai in spring. While the IPC has been a partner with the HKPCA for many years, they stated this is the appropriate time to step away from this event as the two China-based associations join forces. IPC will still be very active in China and will be working with productronica China, starting with the upcoming spring 2019 event in Shanghai.
According to the IPC, this move will better represent their members in China. The IPC wishes the HKPCA and CPCA great success in their new partnership.
