MIRTEC has appointed Kirby & Demarest as its manufacturers’ representative. Kirby & Demarest will provide sales and support for MIRTEC’s award-winning inspection systems in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and the Province of British Columbia. The rep firm provides high technology companies an array of products utilized in the design, manufacturer and test of circuit board assemblies, hybrid circuits, and semiconductors.
“We look forward to working closely with Alan and Steve,” said Brian D'Amico, President of MIRTEC Corp. “MIRTEC is well known for its Technologically Advanced product offering. Our AOI and SPI solutions add superior performance and outstanding reliability to the SMT inspection process. This is a great fit for customers of Kirby & Demarest. We're excited to add such a capable and experienced manufacturers’ representative organization to our sales team.”
MIRTEC has earned a solid reputation with leading OEM and EMS companies throughout the world for its Technologically Advanced inspection systems. The company’s products have been extremely successful in high-volume markets including cell phone and MP3 player manufacturing, as well as low-volume high-mix markets such as medical, automotive, aerospace and defense. MIRTEC invests heavily in Research and Development, persistently focused on using state-of-the-art optics, lighting and projection technology in the development of their award-winning 3D inspection systems.
Kirby & Demarest was founded in 1973 by Dave Demarest as Demarest Associates, and has been serving the Pacific Northwest microelectronic community ever since. In the early days, Demarest concentrated on the hybrid or "chip & wire" area of electronic assembly, and gradually added equipment and supplies for the PCB portion of the business.
Major customers at the time, and still, include Boeing's Microelectronics Center, Sundstrand (now Honeywell), ICI (now Crane Interpoint), Tektronix, Intel, Micron, MCMS (now Plexus) and MSEI/Biotronik.
