Cogiscan and Essegi Storagesolutions Collaborate for the Connected Factory
January 28, 2019 | CogiscanEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Cogiscan Inc. and Storagesolutions, a division of ESSEGI SYSTEM SERVICE s.r.l. and storage solution provider, are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership.
Essegi Storagesolutions will deploy Cogiscan’s Co-NECT platform for seamless communication between the Essegi storage tower and pick and place equipment on the factory floor. This will result in the synchronization of accurate component inventory data throughout the factory, while enabling the storage tower to automatically respond to low component level warnings from the line to minimize line downtime and maximize productivity.
Matteo Padoan, COO at Essegi Storagesolutions commented on this announcement: “Our customers invest in automated storage solutions because they want to improve their bottom line by automating component flow on the production floor. In order to realize the full value of this investment the storage systems must be connected in real-time to other production equipment and various enterprise systems including MES and ERP. By collaborating with Cogiscan we are able to implement their robust off-the-shelf Co-NECT interfaces for all major brands of SMT equipment, so our customers can easily integrate our solutions within any production environment.”
“We have already been working with Essegi Storagesolutions for some time because of our common equipment partner Juki,” said Mitch DeCaire, global director - equipment partnerships at Cogiscan. “This formal partnership is taking our relationship to the next level. We look forward to helping Essegi Storagesolutions continue to grow their business by breaking down connectivity barriers on the shop floor.”
