Vendors Scaling Down Robo-Taxi Operations to Focus on Advancing ADAS Technology
While the race toward the commercialization of fully-autonomous systems in robo-taxi operations continues, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers have also begun to simultaneously double down efforts to significantly advance current Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) technology. “OEMs and suppliers have realized that the significant short-term opportunity lies in scaling down their complex fully autonomous technology,” said Shiv Patel, Research Analyst at ABI Research.
Mission Critical Applications to Drive the Adoption of 5G sUAVs
The adoption of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) will lead to 5G New Radio (NR) and unlock a myriad of civil use cases for small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (sUAVs). “The mission critical nature of public safety demands a high level of reliability, scalability, and redundancy. 5G has strong potential to solve the pain-points of public safety use cases,” said Lian Jye Su, a Principal Analyst at ABI Research.
Fourfold Growth in IoT Service Revenues to be Spearheaded by Data and Analytics
By 2026, Internet of Things (IoT) service revenues will total more than US$460 billion. “However, the future of IoT service revenues belongs to an even newer entrant, in the form of data and analytics. By 2026, data and analytics services will account for 28% of all IoT service,” said Jamie Moss, Research Director at ABI Research.
