Lite-On Technology Consolidated January Sales Up 8% YoY

Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider firm Lite-On Technology has reported January consolidated revenue of NT$15.6 billion ($505.6 million), up by 8% year-on-year, supported by stable end-demand from core businesses. Compared to the previous month, however, sales were down by 3%. The figure excludes sales of the transferred mobile phone camera module and mobile mechanical business.
The Opto-electronics business segment contributed a 16% share of total sales. Thanks to the ongoing growths from invisible LED and LED vehicle lighting, opto-electronics posted a growth of over 10% month-on-month.
The Information Technologies business accounted for 63% of sales. The shipment growth of high-end server and networking power management systems and server enclosures for cloud computing, coupled with ongoing market share gains in HIS (human input solutions such as PC keyboards and peripherals) drove the business toward a consecutive year of growth of nearly 10% in January.
Meanwhile, the Storage segment accounted for 16% of total revenue. Thanks to strong demand from cloud computing application, the segment posted a growth of approximately 20% YoY.
