SMK Electronics Receives IATF Certification

SMK Electronics Corporation U.S.A, a division of SMK Corporation, announces IATF 16949:2016 certification of its Mexico manufacturing facility, as well as its Detroit automotive sales office. Previously certified are SMK’s Toyama, the Philippines and Shenzhen manufacturing centers.
“Receiving the IATF certification of our Mexico manufacturing facility and Detroit sales office, SMK is evolving into the U.S. auto industry’s first choice for OEM components and systems,” said Paul Evans, president, SMK Electronics Corporation.
“The culmination of a 4-year internal program, these quality certifications now guide our North American manufacturing operations,” continued Mr. Evans, “giving manufacturers a trusted source for quality, automotive-grade components. With these certifications in place, SMK Electronics is now uniquely positioned to supply the country’s auto industry with advanced technologies, custom solutions, and robust system components.”
About IATF 16949:2016
Revised from the earlier ISO/TS 16949:2009 automotive quality requirements, the Automotive Task Force requirements (IATF 16949:2016) constitute today’s automotive manufacturing quality standard. Applicable to all auto manufacturers, OEMs and suppliers, IATF is in line with the ISO 9001:2015 and Automotive Functional Safety update.
