Mirtec is pleased to announce that East/West Manufacturing Enterprises, a Texas-based electronic contract manufacturer, has purchased an MV-6 OMNI 3D AOI system.

The award-winning MV-6 OMNI combines Mirtec’s proprietary Twelve Projection OMNI-VISION 3D Digital Tri-Frequency Moiré Technology with an exclusive 15 megapixel CoaXPress camera system to yield precise 3D height measurement data used to detect lifted component and lifted lead defects as well as solder volume post reflow. Fully configured Mirtec’s MV-6 OMNI machine features four 10 megapixel side-view cameras in addition to a 15 megapixel top-down camera. 10/14/2025 | Nash Bell -- Column: Knocking Down the Bone PileBall grid array (BGA) components evolved from pin grid array (PGA) devices, carrying over many of the same electrical benefits while introducing a more compact and efficient interconnect format. Instead of discrete leads, BGAs rely on solder balls on the underside of the package to connect to the PCB. In some advanced designs, solder balls are on both the PCB and the BGA package. In stacked configurations, such as package-on-package (PoP), these solder balls also interconnect multiple packages, enabling higher functionality in a smaller footprint.
