AirBorn Inc., an employee-owned manufacturer of mission critical electronics, plans to invest $3.7 million in its Lake City facility in response to heightened customer demand. In partnership with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's Governor's Action Team, AirBorn's plant expansion aims to add 249 new, full-time jobs to the local economy.
As part of the project, AirBorn will double the size of its facility to 60,000 square feet and make capital investments in new equipment and machinery.
"We are encouraged by the governor's support of our rapidly expanding business and are excited to bring additional manufacturing capacity online to better serve our customers and create new career opportunities in the Erie County community," AirBorn CEO Cindy Lewis said.
The Lake City facility currently employs more than 140 people, all trained to design and manufacture complex electronics for use in a variety of applications.
