Bittele Electronics Opens New Assembly Facility in Canada
May 17, 2019 | Bittele ElectronicsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Bittele Electronics Inc. has launched a new PCB assembly facility in Markham, Ontario, Canada in an effort to assist their American clients.
The 14,000 square foot facility is now operational and will allow clients from the United States to receive the same high standard of quality they have come to expect from Bittele’s existing facility in Shenzhen, China while allowing them to avoid increased tariffs imposed by the US Government on Chinese goods. With the May 10th overnight increase of tariffs from 10% to 25% on select goods imported from China, now it is more important than ever to be able to provide clients a reliable assembly option in North America.
This facility located at 2680 14th Avenue Markham, Ontario, Canada, features two state-of-the-art printed circuit board assembly lines designed to replicate operations of the current facility in Shenzhen, China. The fully automated assembly lines feature top-of-the-line equipment such as:
- DEK model E paste printers for solder paste printing
- YAMAHA YS12 pick and place machines for component placement
- RS1000II Reflow Ovens
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines from JT Automation
- Kurtz ERSA Selective Soldering machines
- Dage Quadra 3 X-Ray Inspection
About Bittele Electronics
Bittele Electronics has shifted its prototype assembly to the new Markham facility with intentions to offer higher-volume production in Canada within the next month. This will allow clients to benefit from the more favorable USMCA trade agreement, as well as additional flexibility and improved lead-times. By sharing lessons learned over a long career in the PCB industry, we hope to shorten learning curves and help designers produce better boards with less hassle and rework. Episode 2 deals with the electronic pre-manufacturing process. Moving from CAD (computer-aided design) to CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) is a key step in PCB manufacturing. CAM turns digital designs into instructions that machines can use to actually build the PCB.
