Koh Young America and TRC celebrate a 15-year Partnership
September 3, 2019 | Koh Young AmericaEstimated reading time: 3 minutes

Over 26 years ago, Frank Mascetti founded Technical Resources Corporation (TRC) and began as an manufacturers' rep firm specializing in manufacturing, inspection, and synergistic products for the printed circuit board (PCB) assembly industry. Today, the collective resources at TRC provide over 75 years of experience serving the electronics industry in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. The company works collaboratively with its customers to assess their manufacturing needs, and then leverage its product offerings in an effective manner that can transform the manufacturing process.
This month, Koh Young America celebrates its 15-year anniversary with its sales partner TRC. “For 15 years, TRC has been our invaluable partner in Florida and Puerto Rico. During this time, Frank and his team have helped Koh Young secure new customers, develop new technologies, and expand our leadership position as the industries predominant supplier of true 3D inspection and measurement solutions,” said Brent A. Fischthal, senior manager for Americas Marketing and Regional Sales with Koh Young America. “We look forward to continuing this relationship and expanding our growth trajectory in the region.”
Since its inception in 1993, TRC has been listening to what manufacturers want, and then using knowledge-based decisions to deliver what they need with the highest quality products and services available. Its line card of synergistic and complementary product offerings provides “total integrated solutions,” which includes the industry-leading solder paste inspection (SPI), automated optical inspection (AOI), automated pin inspection (API), and Smart Factory solutions from Koh Young.
“Back in 2004, I first met with Koh Young Technologies Founder and CEO, Dr. Kwangill Koh in a Tampa hotel lobby to discuss an industry disruptive inspection innovation,” said Frank Mascetti, Founder and Owner of TRC. “His vision for the industry and passion for customers immediately convinced me to make a bold move to represent his company and run forward—and I’ve never looked back.”
From the industry’s first 3D SPI solution, Dr. Koh’s vision combined with the Voice of the Customer has driven many more “industry first” innovations like closed-loop feedback. “With its forward-thinking strategies, Koh Young began delivering industry-disruptive solutions like its Industry 4.0 enabling KSMART software. What’s more, Koh Young provides its customers with software enhancements and performance upgrades to ensure users increase utilization and improve yields.”

Fresh PCB Concepts: Assembly Challenges with Micro Components and Standard Solder Mask Practices
06/26/2025 | Team NCAB -- Column: Fresh PCB ConceptsMicro components have redefined what is possible in PCB design. With package sizes like 01005 and 0201 becoming more common in high-density layouts, designers are now expected to pack more performance into smaller spaces than ever before. While these advancements support miniaturization and functionality, they introduce new assembly challenges, particularly with traditional solder mask and legend application processes.
Knocking Down the Bone Pile: Tin Whisker Mitigation in Aerospace Applications, Part 3
06/25/2025 | Nash Bell -- Column: Knocking Down the Bone PileTin whiskers are slender, hair-like metallic growths that can develop on the surface of tin-plated electronic components. Typically measuring a few micrometers in diameter and growing several millimeters in length, they form through an electrochemical process influenced by environmental factors such as temperature variations, mechanical or compressive stress, and the aging of solder alloys.
