Indium Corporation Expert to Teach SMTA Certification Course in Mexico

Indium Corporation expert Iván Castellanos, Technical Services Manager, Latin America, will teach a SMTA Processes Certification course this spring.
The class will take place from May 19-21, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Hotel Riu Plaza Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. This intensive three-day course includes a day-and-a-half workshop on SMT processes and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, a half-day closed book exam on May 20, and a full-day open book exam on May 21. Instruction will be provided in English and Spanish; exams will be provided in English.
This is not a basic-level program. It is a challenging certification course that requires both written responses and calculations. Knowledge of basic algebra is required.
The certification program allows participants to establish competitive credentials that demonstrate proof of knowledge, experience, and competency, while also keeping pace with the quickly changing technologies in the industry.
Castellanos provides support for electronics assembly, semiconductor and advanced assembly, and thermal management markets. He is based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and has more than 25 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing, including SMT production troubleshooting. Castellanos has a diploma in electronics and communications engineering and is a Certified SMT Process Engineer (CSMTPE). He is the SMTA instructor for the certification program in Spanish. He has also earned his Six Sigma Green Belt from Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering. Castellanos has worked for several major manufacturing companies, including Jabil Circuits in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. In addition, he has presented at numerous technical conferences and customer sites.
