HumiSeal®, global leader in the manufacturing of conformal coatings, has announced the successful testing of its industry standard UV40 conformal coating to ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity standards. This assures that electronics manufacturers serving the medical device industry can have increased confidence when using UV40 in PCBs. While UV40 has been commonly used for medical device protection in the past, this additional testing verifies the product’s ability to meet the increasing health and safety demands required of medical devices and wearable technologies.
UV40 remains an industry leader in conformal coatings, providing electronics with durability and resistance to dust and dirt, abrasion, humidity, liquids, and chemicals.
Keith Waryold, Vice President of Adhesives Sealants and Additives, said, “We are excited to introduce the ISO 10993-5 qualification for the UV40 conformal coating. The ISO 10993-5 approval offers an additional level of confidence to engineers when designing PCBAs in the medical and personal devices space.”
