August 1, 2022 | BMKEstimated reading time: 1 minute

BMK is again one of the top companies in Bavaria. Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, presented the Bavaria's Best 50 award to Dr. Bärbel Götz and Andreas Schneider, Managing Directors of BMK, at Schleißheim Castle on July 26, 2022.
The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy will again honor the 50 fastest-growing medium-sized companies in 2022. In the last five years, these companies increased both their sales and number of employees above average.
The award-winning SMEs are successfully assuming corporate responsibility in view of demographic change and the increased challenges of a modern working world. The award is intended to give public recognition to this economic and social significance. Hubert Aiwanger emphasizes, "With performance, dedication and creativity, SMEs have contributed economic strength and overall prosperity to Bavaria.
Therefore, BMK is a part of the companies regarded as the backbone of the Bavarian economy.
After 2018, the Ministry awarded BMK for the second time.
Dr. Bärbel Götz is pleased, "As an owner-managed medium-sized company, BMK has assumed corporate responsibility since its foundation in 1994. Against the backdrop of the difficult market situation due to the Corona pandemic and the war in Europe creating disruptions in the supply chain, there is a need for a shift to more flexible and creative solutions. We are proud to be among the best in Bavaria."

The Power Shift in U.S. Manufacturing Ownership
08/20/2025 | Nolan Johnson, I-Connect007The U.S. manufacturing landscape is driven by reshoring initiatives, supply chain realignments, and a surge of foreign interest. What does that mean for U.S.-based PCB and EMS companies? In this interview, mergers and acquisitions expert Tom Kastner breaks down the forces reshaping the industry—why foreign investors are eager to enter the U.S. market, why many are evaluating greenfield facilities over acquisitions, and why the high-mix, low-volume focus of most domestic shops doesn’t always align with foreign buyers’ goals.

Direct Metallization: A Sustainable Shift in PCB Fabrication
07/31/2025 | Jim Watkowski, Harry Yang, and Mark Edwards, MacDermid Alpha Electronics SolutionsThe global electronics industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the need for more resilient supply chains and environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices. Printed circuit boards (PCBs), the backbone of interconnection for electronic devices, are at the center of this shift. Traditionally, PCB fabrication has relied heavily on electroless copper, a process that, while effective, is resource-intensive and environmentally hazardous. In response, many manufacturers are turning to direct metallization technologies as a cleaner, more efficient alternative.
