Koh Young Southeast Asia Unveils Expanded Offices in Penang, Malaysia
May 24, 2023 | Koh Young TechnologyEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Koh Young, the industry leader in True3D™ measurement-based inspection solutions, announced it proudly revealed its expanded facility in Penang, Malaysia to further cement its market-leading position by offering more space to experience its many different award-winning inspection machines and smart factory solutions available. Penang, positioned along the northwest of Peninsular Malaysia, needs no introduction in the global electronics manufacturing sector. It has long been a strategic location in the heart of Southeast Asia thanks in part to its robust supply chain network, stable business environment, and thriving ecosystem of local and multinational companies supported by a skilled workforce with outstanding government support.
“Since the 1970s, Penang has grown to become a crucial hub for electronics manufacturing in Southeast Asia and is home to many top tier electronics manufacturers we can proudly call customers,” said Mr. Thomas Lau, Sales Manager for Koh Young Southeast Asia. “Penang's importance to Southeast Asia's electronics manufacturing industry cannot be overstated. Its infrastructure, business environment, and skilled workforce make it a key player in the global electronics industry landscape and contributes significantly to the economic growth and development of the region.”
The electronics industry in Malaysia has strengthened the surrounding ecosystem especially around semiconductor, solar, LED, storage technologies, and electronic manufacturing services (EMS). Malaysia’s vibrant ecosystem and resilient outlook remains a strong determining factor for why Koh Young strengthened its operations within Penang.
“This is an extremely exciting moment for us and represents a significant milestone for Koh Young. It's a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our team. We designed the new space to promote collaboration, productivity, and excellence, and it will surely play a critical role in our continued success in the region,” commented Mr. Peter Shin, Managing Director at Koh Young Southeast Asia. “I also want to express our gratitude to all our partners, stakeholders, and customers who have supported us throughout the years. Their unwavering support and loyalty were instrumental in our success, and we look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with new and existing partners.”
