Messe München's electronics network with the world's leading trade fairs electronica and productronica is expanding its partnership with SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association, in India. The agreement was signed during productronica and SEMICON Europa 2023 in Munich. SEMICON India will be held in parallel with productronica India and electronica India, providing an even stronger and larger platform for the growing semiconductor and electronics industry in India. The co-location will kick off in New Delhi from September 18 to 20, 2024.
Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München: "The Indian market is becoming more and more important for global manufacturers who want to further diversify their supply chains. I am therefore all the more pleased that we are expanding our successful cooperation with the global industry association SEMI, which already successfully organizes SEMICON Europa in parallel with electronica and productronica in Munich, to include SEMICON India. This is the logical consequence of our strategic partnership."
The signing of the contract will strengthen Messe München's electronics network. In future, SEMICON India will be held in parallel with electronica India and productronica India, making it the largest meeting place for ideas and innovation in the electronics industry in Southeast Asia.
Electronics market India
The agreement underlines the Indian government's initiative to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem and promote the independence of the Indian semiconductor and electronics industry. India has emerged as an attractive destination for semiconductor manufacturing and sourcing due to its growing domestic market and demand for electronics. The demand for semiconductors in India today is estimated at 24 billion US dollars. Experts expect this figure to rise to 110 billion US dollars by 2030.
