Current IssueIn Pursuit of Perfection: Defect Reduction
For bare PCB board fabrication, defect reduction is a critical aspect of a company's bottom line profitability. In this issue, we examine how imaging, etching, and plating processes can provide information and insight into reducing defects and increasing yields.
Voices of the Industry
We take the pulse of the PCB industry by sharing insights from leading fabricators and suppliers in this month's issue. We've gathered their thoughts on the new U.S. administration, spending, the war in Ukraine, and their most pressing needs. It’s an eye-opening and enlightening look behind the curtain.
The Essential Guide to Surface Finishes
We go back to basics this month with a recount of a little history, and look forward to addressing the many challenges that high density, high frequency, adhesion, SI, and corrosion concerns for harsh environments bring to the fore. We compare and contrast surface finishes by type and application, take a hard look at the many iterations of gold plating, and address palladium as a surface finish.

Plasmatreat Announces 'Book-a-Demo' Service
July 3, 2024 | PlasmatreatEstimated reading time: 2 minutes

Atmospheric plasma technology has established itself as a universal problem solver for processing a wide range of materials in a variety of industries. Anyone looking for the right plasma surface treatment for their product or material combination can book the flexible "Book-a-Demo" service from Plasmatreat GmbH in Steinhagen - and see for themselves the performance and possibilities of plasma.
With Plasmatreat's innovative Openair-Plasma and PlasmaPlus applications, the surface properties of materials such as metal, plastic, glass or textiles can be specifically modified. For example, as a pre-treatment for bonding, painting, printing or sealing. Even new composites of incompatible materials, such as different plastics, are possible. In industrial production - from high-tech products to everyday objects - plasma has become a real game changer. Cleaning, activating or coating surfaces with plasma technology has found its way into many manufacturing processes and industries.
"Book-a-Demo" service at Plasmatreat technology centers: book tests on site or online
In discussions with the customer, the plasma experts work out the challenges and process parameters and use various tests to determine the perfect plasma parameters for the individual application. The effect of plasma is then tested in a live demonstration, tailored to the customer's needs, using the material samples provided or similar samples, and evaluated using various test methods. The experts explain the results of Openair-Plasma and PlasmaPlus in the respective application in a direct dialogue. This takes place either on site at one of the Plasmatreat Technology Centers in Germany, USA, Canada, China or Japan as a live session or alternatively via a web meeting. The "Book-a-Demo" service can be easily booked online with precise details of the material, product and location.
Getting started with plasma technology made easy
If "Book-a-Demo" is successful, the customer can start using plasma surface treatment in their production with a rental system or purchase an automated, inline Plasma Treatment Unit (PTU) that is customized to their production process and parameters.
Plasmatreat offers comprehensive support - from the first contact to "Book-a-Demo" or rental system booking, installation, commissioning and after-sales service of the systems. The innovative systems from the world leader in atmospheric plasma technology are inline capable and can be easily integrated into existing production lines. The dry process allows direct further processing and thus supports highly efficient, fully automated processes. At the same time, the use of atmospheric plasma is a significantly more environmentally friendly alternative to many conventional production processes.
