Current IssueInner Layer Precision & Yields
In this issue, we examine the critical nature of building precisions into your inner layers and assessing their pass/fail status as early as possible. Whether it’s using automation to cut down on handling issues, identifying defects earlier, or replacing an old line...
Engineering Economics
The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

MilDef to Deliver Rugged Displays to European Military Vehicle Manufacturer
August 14, 2024 | CisionEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Via the acquisition of certain assets of Advanced Vision Technologies Ltd (AVT), MilDef has now been entrusted to deliver intelligent and rugged displays to key European land vehicle programmes. Deliveries will take place 2024-2029 and order value amounts to approximately 135 MSEK.
In 2020, MilDef won a framework agreement to deliver hardware, e.g. computers, switches, and routers. Through the acquisition of certain assets from AVT, this agreement will now include the next generation of GVA (Generic Vehicle Architecture) military displays, produced at MilDef’s UK assembly facility in South Wales.
“We are honoured to support this huge project with a large European military vehicle manufacturer, further developing our current collaboration and expanding our contribution to a significant modernization programme. This continues to strengthen our competitive offering to the European and UK based defence industry, says Daniel Ljunggren, CEO and President MilDef Group.
The acquisition of certain assets expands MilDef's product portfolio with three ruggedized displays in sizes 8.0“, 13.3” and 15.6”, compatible with GVA, NGVA and DEF-STAN for use on military platforms. This ensures MilDef can provide interoperable computers and display products to meet current and future platform requirements from GVA and NATO for e.g. video distribution according to standards such as DEF Stan 00-82. MilDef will facilitate complete design and production services for intelligent displays and advanced video processing.
Due to the nature of the industry, circumstances concerning the customer and national security interests, no further information regarding this order or the customer will be provided at this time.
