October 18, 2024 | GPVEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Last week, the first of three Business Development Management (BDM) Summits was held in Thailand and Sri Lanka. The summit brought together our Business Development Managers with a focus to discuss core competencies and how our Operating Business Units can support our Business Development Managers in developing our business and continue to be relevant for our customers.
The BDM Summit Asia is a follow-up of the Customer Experience Summit held in Munich in February 2024 where the focus was on how to best serve our existing customers. The focus at the BDM Summit in Asia last week was how to bring new customers to our footprint in Asia.
At the summit, the participants went on site tours at GPV Electronics TH, GPV Mechanics TH and GPV Electronics LK. Each local management team presented their own OBU, and in Sri Lanka, representatives from GPV Electronics CN in Beijing and Suzhou joined the summit to present the capabilities in our Chinese factories.
“As a technology partner beyond EMS, our goal is to align perfectly with our customers’ needs and deliver not only the services they require but also anticipating and exceeding their expectations. Our Business Development Managers are key in bridging our customers with our Operational Business Units, ensuring trust and reliability remain our top priorities,” says Bo Lybæk, CEO at GPV Group A/S.
The summit in Asia highlighted::
- Insights on unique OBU capabilities and potential new opportunities
- Collaborative roundtables identifying top-fit opportunities using CRM data
- Plenum discussions on strategies to expand market reach and win larger opportunities

It’s Only Common Sense: Invest in Yourself—You’re Your Most Important Resource
11/25/2024 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseMost Saturdays, I take the time to invest in myself. I usually have a couple of books I’ve saved for the day. Sometimes, I watch videos germane to the topics I am studying. I take a lot of notes then go for a long walk to think about the information I picked up earlier that day. It works. By the end of the day, I have two or three great ideas for my business, my customers, and how I can help them.

It’s Only Common Sense: You Need to Learn to Say ‘No’
11/18/2024 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseWhy is it so hard to say “no?” I am a people pleaser, so this is a problem I deal with all the time. Most of us like to say “yes,” and we like to help people, especially when they are offering a business deal that looks like a genuine opportunity. Business opportunities come from all directions, and it’s tempting to say “yes” to them all. However, saying “yes” to everything can dilute your focus, spread your resources too thin, and pull you away from your core goals. Learning to say “no” is not just a skill; it’s necessary for success. It’s only common sense.
