Compal Honored with Sustainability Awards

The 2024 17th TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards held its joint award ceremony today (11th). Compal was honored with two prestigious awards: the "Taiwan Top 100 Sustainability Model Enterprise Award" and the "Taiwan Sustainability Report – Platinum Award." Mr. Jack Wang, Vice President and Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer, represented the company to accept the honors.
The TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), a total of participation from 526 enterprises, government agencies, and NGO organizations this year, 882 companies have applied for the award over the years. In addition, Compal was honored with the "Global Corporate Sustainability Award – Gold Award" by TAISE in November and the honor of being ranked first in carbon reduction for promoting green transportation in Neihu District by the Taipei City Government.
Compal actively responds to corporate sustainable development. In 2024, to strengthen sustainability governance, the company’s directors were re-elected and the number of independent directors was 1/3 of all directors, with one female director. The specific goal of diversifying the company’s directors has been achieved.
In response to the environmental impacts of climate change, Compal became a new member of RE100 in June, committing to achieving 100% renewable energy usage by 2050. By pursuing this target, Compal aims to play a leading role in promoting global renewable energy adoption. In August 2024, aligning with global efforts, Compal's carbon reduction plan successfully obtained verification from the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), achieving an annual 29.7% reduction in carbon emission in 2023 and demonstrating the company's commitment to science-based reduction targets.
In November, Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer Mr. Jack Wang represented Compal at the Business Weekly 2024 “Carbon Competitiveness Top 100” award ceremony. Compal collaborated with 34 key supplier partners to execute the “ONE+N Electronics Supply Chain Net-Zero Acceleration Program,” This initiative builds net-zero transformation competitiveness and fosters a collaborative supply chain where large enterprises support smaller partners to advance together.

Additionally, Compal's recognition in Business Weekly's 2024 'Carbon Competitiveness Top 100' fully demonstrates the tangible results and social impact of our carbon reduction initiatives. Furthermore. In the 2024 DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Index) ESG assessment, our score has significantly improved by 47points, from 38 in 2022 to 85 in 2024. This progress reflects our unwavering commitment to continuous efforts and steady advancement in sustainability, earning us widespread recognition and high praise."
By 2024, Compal continues to receive recognition for its sustainability performance both domestically and internationally. The company has been included for several consecutive years in the FTSE4 Good Index and the FTSE4Good TIP Taiwan ESG Index, demonstrating the long-term recognition of Compal's sustainable investment value by global institutions. Additionally, Compal has earned a spot in the Taiwan High Salary 100 Index, the Taiwan Employment 99 Index, and the Selected Taiwan Technology Dividend Index, reflecting its solid achievements in corporate sustainability and social responsibility.
