As a global industry-driven organization, IPC exists to help its member-companies and the electronics industry innovate, compete, and succeed. By being the hub of knowledge, IPC provides standards, training and certification, industry intelligence, education, and public policy advocacy to help our industry achieve its goals.
Accepted worldwide as the key manufacturing standards for the printed board and electronics manufacturing industries, IPC standards are associated with nearly every stage of the electronic product development cycle. From design and purchasing to assembly and packaging, IPC standards help ensure superior quality, reliability and consistency in the electronics assemblies that go into an electronic product.
Annually, IPC publishes dozens of new and updated standards in areas from printed board design and intellectual property protection through box build. Today, IPC’s collection of industry standards and guidelines exceeds 300 “active” standards and its resource library contains more than 1,000 standards. In 2024, innovative new standards emerged in design, printed electronics, sintering materials, and plastronics. Efforts expanded into vital areas like IC substrates, system-in-package technologies, and sustainability, reflecting IPC’s commitment to address emerging industry trends and technologies.
