BEST Inc to Host Soldering 101 Workshop at Illinois & Michigan Locations
April 15, 2025 | BEST Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
BEST Inc., a leader in electronic component services, training, and products is pleased to announce it will host multiple Soldering 101 workshops in its Rolling Meadows, Illinois and Lansing, Michigan locations.
Soldering 101 is an introduction to the basics of soldering developed by BEST’s Master IPC Trainers which is in accordance with IPC standards. During this 2-day workshop, students will cover ESD concepts, component identification, soldering equipment overview, IPC Class 2 workmanship standards, and a variety of soldering techniques for through-hole and surface mount devices. Upon completion of the course, students will make a functional “decision-making” device with spinning LED lights implementing all the knowledge and skills covered during the class.
Companies who are preparing to onboard new operators may consider combining Soldering 101 with other job-specific training to set them up for long-term success. It can be overwhelming for a new hire to jump directly into a job without an understanding of the basic terminology and concepts of electronics.
Soldering 101 is also a great option for individuals who are required to take the J-STD-001 certification but lack considerable experience. Introducing the basic concepts with Soldering 101 first makes a more advanced course much less overwhelming and improves their chances of passing on their first attempt.
