TT Electronics, a leading provider of global manufacturing solutions and engineered technologies, announced today that it has been awarded significant new contracts totalling over £50 million to support classified U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs. Commencing in 2025 and ramping over the next five years, the contracts will expand TT Electronics' role in vital Naval and Air Combat programmes, solidifying its reputation as a trusted engineering and manufacturing partner for demanding defence applications.
The latest contracts, which include the domestic production of power electronics solutions for both established and next generation platforms, will be executed from TT Electronics’ state-of-the-art power electronics facility in Kansas City. This facility is a critical hub for providing North American defence OEMs with highly reliable power conversion, custom electromagnetics and large-scale transformer solutions tailored to harsh environments.
Michael Leahan, Executive Vice President at TT Electronics, commented: “Our team in Kansas City has been instrumental in pioneering and producing advanced power electronics for a wide array of defence programs across air, naval, and land sectors for over 50 years. These latest contracts are not only a testament to the enduring trust and confidence our clients place in our capabilities but also echo our ongoing commitment to meeting the rigorous standards required by the U.S. military. We are proud to continue delivering solutions that our defence partners can rely on for their most critical operations.”
Established in 1956 as Torotel in Olathe, Kansas City, the facility was acquired by TT Electronics in 2020. As a dedicated power electronics engineering and manufacturing facility for aerospace and defence, the site provides power management solutions for harsh environments on major defence platforms, including combat air, naval and missile defence systems.
