Hungarian EMS Provider VIDEOTON Group Acquires Stake in Limtronik

VIDEOTON is a privately owned, family-run Hungarian contract manufacturer. As one of the top EU-based companies in this sector, VIDEOTON offers comprehensive electronic manufacturing services (EMS). In addition to services similar to Limtronik’s, VIDEOTON's capabilities include high-complexity box build and part manufacturing, providing Limtronik with broader horizontal and vertical growth opportunities. This collaboration will enable both companies to access additional local manufacturing capacities and leverage established sales networks across Europe and the USA.
The objective of this collaboration is to develop a seamless, comprehensive value chain that delivers increased customer value through proximity and vertical integration. Together, the companies aim to strengthen their market positions and unlock new growth potential, fulfilling customer requirements that can only be met through their combined expertise.
Most companies with a similar size and profile to VIDEOTON have long had a presence on multiple continents. VIDEOTON's flexible, high-level services and competitive prices previously allowed for continuous growth, with exclusively Eastern European manufacturing sites. However, recent global trade realignments and the evolving customer base of VIDEOTON have made geographical expansion desirable. In many industries (defense and aerospace, medical devices, semiconductor manufacturing), customers still prefer to do business with Western European and US partners. This justifies the manufacturing presence in Germany and the US, even with a relatively small production scale, but strong commercial capacity. On the other hand, many European innovative small and medium-sized enterprise partners of ours had previously not felt a need for manufacturing outside of Europe, but it has now become clear that manufacturing in the USA could be vital for their success. Thus, this expansion is expedient for retaining them and acquiring similar ones. VIDEOTON has had a German subsidiary for about 30 years, which until now has exclusively handled commercial tasks. The Limburg and Denver sites will also provide an opportunity for all VIDEOTON companies to establish a cost-effective local presence if needed.
The decision was greatly facilitated by the fact that, unlike most similar transactions, the owner-managers of the German company committed to their long-term personal involvement in Limtronik and support for the success of the whole VIDEOTON Group.
