Summer Vacation at AT&S: Welcome to World of Experience
August 6, 2025 | AT&SEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Welcome to the cool world of microelectronics. At AT&S, high-quality IC substrates and printed circuit boards are produced for prominent customers from the high-tech world, which have essential functions in smartphones, smartwatches and laptops and are also indispensable in airplanes, electric cars, satellites and many applications of digital life.
In the World of Experience
“Erlebniswelt Wirtschaft” is a successful concept of the Styrian economy: innovative companies open their doors to interested visitors who can take a look behind the scenes of production in exciting, creatively designed experience tours. More than 4.5 million visitors have taken part in tours in Styria since 2010. The new AT&S World of Experience in Leoben, opened in 2023, impresses with interactive multimedia stations, a 3D cinema and popular “Line Tours” into selected production areas. The tours amaze young and old, people with no prior technical knowledge and experts alike.
Eberhard Schrempf praised the AT&S experience tour as “particularly impressive” in the review article (“Where innovation becomes a hit with the public”) in the business magazine “SPIRIT of Styria” on the occasion of the 15-year-anniversary. As Managing Director of Creative Industries Styria (CIS), he managed the project implementation. “It’s impressive how the otherwise invisible production of tiny but indispensable high-tech components for our everyday lives is brought closer to us at AT&S.”
Dates still available in Leoben
This journey of discovery can even be booked as a vacation program now, with guided tours and the expertise of AT&S tour guides, in groups and as individuals. The next available dates are offered by AT&S during school vacations on August 21 and September 4 (each 2 pm, approx. 90 min). The next date on September 25 will be the start of the autumn program. The tours can be booked via the AT&S website, see link. Please note: The AT&S World of Experience is not suitable for small children. For tours in English, please contact the events department directly.
Gerald Reischl, Head of the AT&S Communications Department, emphasizes: “The World of Experience combines technology, sustainability and visions of the future in a fascinating way – a visit that excites and inspires.”

It’s Only Common Sense: If You’re Not Differentiated, You’re Dead
10/13/2025 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common Sense“Good enough” is not good enough in business. Not anymore. “Good enough” is a death sentence in today’s market. Too many companies hide behind their ISO certificates, ITAR registrations, and shiny badges of compliance as if those are supposed to impress customers, but certifications are table stakes. Everyone has them. If you think that’s your differentiator, you’re already in the grave; you just don’t know it.

It’s the part of customer service that no one likes to talk about, but every company must master how to respond when things go wrong.
