SRXGlobal, a Scanfil company, is proud to announce the expansion and modernization of its facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Finland in Malaysia, Ms. Maiju Lepomäki, conducted the inauguration of the expansion and modernization of the Johor Bahru manufacturing facility. Finland and Malaysia have close economic ties, which have developed since 1988 with the establishment of the Finnish embassy in Malaysia.
The event drew prestigious guests, including the Malaysian Investment Development Authority’s (MIDA) Director of Johor, Mr. Mohamed Reduan Mohamed Zabri, the Malaysian-Finnish Chamber of Commerce Senior Advisor, Mr. Mohamed Farid Mohamed Razali, alongside Scanfil Group’s CEO Christophe Sut, VP of APAC Christian Kesten, and many customer representatives.
“The expansion and modernization is a great showcase of the positive business environment in Malaysia. Due to this predictable and business-friendly environment, Scanfil is committed to developing SRXGlobal’s operations in Johor Bahru with a long-term perspective, and we see great future opportunities,” emphasizes Scanfil Group CEO Christophe Sut.
The expansion and modernization investment of EUR 4.3 million increases capacity, quality, and efficiency. It also increased the production area by nearly 50%. The Johor Bahru facility specializes in electronics manufacturing and complex box-build manufacturing with one-stop-shop principles. It employs 170 people and has a 6,150 m² production area.
"We are excited to unveil the newly expanded and modernized Johor Bahru facility," said Ms. Maiju Lepomäki, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Finland in Malaysia. "This investment reflects the strong relationship between Finland and Malaysia and the positive business environment in Malaysia.
MIDA Director of Johor, Mr. Mohamed Reduan Mohamed Zabri, continues, “We are extremely happy about the Scanfil Group investment. They see the potential of Malaysia and are dedicated to the country with a long-term perspective. As an investment authority, we want to drive and nurture good development opportunities for companies in our country.”
New machinery, updated IT systems, and layout follow the Scanfil Dream Factory program, which aims for a “best-in-class” factory where IT & Data, Processes, and Technology work seamlessly together.
