Koh Young, Fuji, and Kurtz ERSA Drive Smart Manufacturing Solutions for EV and Automotive Electronics at Kunshan, China Technical Seminar
September 25, 2025 | Koh YoungEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Koh Young Technology, the global leader in True 3D measurement-based inspection solutions, partnered with Fuji Corporation and Kurtz ERSA to host an exclusive technical seminar for leading automotive manufacturers in East China. Held on September 4 at Fuji’s factory in Kunshan, the event gathered participants representing over 35 companies.
Under the theme “Smart Manufacturing Automobile Technology,” the seminar addressed the unique demands of automotive and electric vehicle (EV) electronics production. Safety-critical systems, advanced driver-assistance (ADAS), and the electrification of vehicles all require components built to the highest levels of precision, repeatability, and reliability. The event explored how intelligent process optimization and integrated equipment solutions can help manufacturers meet these stringent requirements while maintaining productivity and cost efficiency.
Fuji opened the program with an introduction to its Kunshan facility and demonstrated its latest advancements in printing and placement, including the GPX-CII printer and NXTRmounter. Kurtz ERSA followed with soldering technologies designed for demanding automotive applications, showcasing the EXOS inline reflow soldering system with vacuum and the VERSAFLOW ONE F-series selective soldering system.
Koh Young Technology presented its advances in True 3D inspection and process control solutions, featuring the KY8030-3 solder paste inspection (SPI) system and the Zenith Alpha HS+ automated optical inspection (AOI) system. The company also highlighted its growing portfolio specifically designed to solve the challenges facing EV and automotive electronic manufacturing, where reliability and traceability are critical. Central to these solutions is KSMART, Koh Young’s smart factory platform, which transforms inspection data into actionable insights for continuous improvement. In addition, Koh Young showcased its AI-powered KPO Printer and KPO Mounter solutions, which connect seamlessly with equipment to provide automatic process optimization across the printing and placement steps.
Following the technical sessions, participants engaged in interactive demonstrations on the production floor, experiencing how the three companies’ complementary technologies integrate to create smarter, more connected manufacturing lines.
“This seminar underscored the value of collaboration in addressing the complex demands of automotive electronics,” said Steven Choi, General Manager of Koh Young China. “By combining our expertise in placement, inspection, and soldering, we demonstrated how smart manufacturing can help customers improve reliability, ensure safety, and achieve higher productivity in EV and automotive electronics production.”
The event reinforced the three companies’ shared commitment to supporting the automotive industry with advanced manufacturing practices that address today’s challenges, including vehicle electrification, functional safety, and the growing complexity of automotive electronics. With strong engagement from the invited audience, the seminar laid the foundation for ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing.
