MicroCare Fluids to Replace Discontinued 3M Novec Specialty Fluids
December 8, 2025 | MicroCare Corp.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
With 3M discontinuing all Novec™ Specialty Fluids in 2025, electronics manufacturers face urgent sourcing challenges. MicroCare™ offers ready-to-ship, precision-matched replacements through its Tergo™ Performance Fluids and MicroCare Engineered Fluids lines.
Designed for high-reliability vapor degreasing, Tergo™ fluids deliver identical performance to Novec™ 7100, 7200, and 7300 for flux removal, contact cleaning, and sensitive electronics degreasing. Their high density and low surface tension ensure effective cleaning under low-standoff components and in tight geometries, making them perfect for printed circuit boards (PCBs) sensors, connectors and semiconductor components.
“Electronics manufacturers can’t afford disruption,” said Ray Bellavance, MicroCare VP of Sales & Marketing. “Our Tergo™ and MicroCare Engineered Fluids are proven, compatible replacements that ensure customers can maintain production continuity without sacrificing performance or reliability.”
“We’ve been preparing for the Novec™ phase-out for years,” Bellavance added. “Our team is ready to support customers in making the transition quickly and confidently.”
MicroCare alternatives require no process requalification, offer seamless compatibility with existing equipment, and match or exceed the cleaning results of Novec™ 7100, 71DE, 7200, 72DE, 72DA, 73DE, and more.
With Novec™ supplies tightening industry-wide, manufacturers are encouraged to secure replacements now to avoid disruptions.
