The European Chips Diversity Alliance (ECDA) today announced Cassandra Melvin, Senior Director of Business Development and Operations at SEMI Europe, as the recipient of the inaugural Spark Excellence Award. The award was presented during the CxO Summit at SEMICON Europa 2025 held in Munich.
The Spark Excellence Award recognises exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing inclusion within the semiconductor ecosystem, celebrating individuals who are driving meaningful progress across the European microelectronics industry.
Throughout her career, Melvin has advocated for inclusion as a driver of belonging and confidence. She leads with the belief that every voice deserves space, and that people do their best work when they feel seen and valued. Melvin is committed to active listening and building environments where people from all backgrounds can grow.
As Chair of the Diversity in Chips Leadership Board, Melvin plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of ECDA’s initiatives to promote inclusive practices and strengthen Europe’s microelectronics talent pipeline. With experience leading cross-functional teams, Melvin is committed to expanding efforts to expand skills-building and attract a diverse talent pool across Europe.
