P. Kay Metal Expand Presence in El Salvador with New MS2 Molten Solder Surfactant Installations
January 12, 2026 | P. Kay Metal, Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
MS2 Technologies, LLC/ P. Kay Metal, continues to strengthen its presence in Central America through the successful installation of MS2® Molten Solder Surfactant systems at electronics manufacturing facilities throughout El Salvador.
These installations, paired with MS2’s off-line dross-processing machines (DOFFS), are helping manufacturers achieve reductions of up to 60% in new solder purchases. By moving dross recovery off the production line, the DOFFS system enables a more measurable, controlled, and convenient recovery process—improving operational efficiency, increasing process visibility, and enhancing overall manufacturing control.
When combined with MS2®, P. Kay Metal’s patented molten solder surfactant, the DOFFS system allows manufacturers to significantly reduce material costs, minimize waste, and maintain consistent solder quality across production operations.
“Our projects in El Salvador go well beyond equipment installation,” said Octavio Raygoza, Regional Manager, Mexico. “By providing proper system setup, hands-on technical support, and comprehensive operator training, we help manufacturers quickly realize measurable savings and long-term value. This approach reinforces our commitment to delivering practical, cost-effective solutions that improve day-to-day manufacturing operations.”

Connect the Dots: Designing for the Future of Manufacturing Reality—Surface Finish
05/07/2026 | Matt Stevenson -- Column: Connect the DotsWhen designing the complex boards that many electronic devices require to operate, designers should consider manufacturability at every step. This is my last article focused on designing for the always-evolving manufacturing reality. Choosing the right surface finish has always been important. If you are creating intricate designs with a wide variety of components, like for an ultra-high density interconnect (UHDI) board, surface finish is a critical last step.
