KYZEN’s Adam Klett to Present on Flux Residue Visualization Alternatives at SMTA Pan Pac 2026
January 19, 2026 | KYZEN'Estimated reading time: 1 minute
KYZEN, the global leader in innovative environmentally responsible cleaning chemistries, announced that Adam Klett, KYZEN’s Director of Science will present the technical paper “Seeing the Invisible: A Non-Destructive Approach to Visualizing Flux Residues” at SMTA’s 2026 Pan Pacific Strategic Electronics Symposium scheduled to take place February 2-5, 2026, at The Hapuna Westin Resort on Big Island, HI.
Klett will present the paper during the second session of the symposium, “Cleaning/Cleanliness Testing and Humidity Control,” on Tuesday, Feb. 3 from 10:45-11:15 AM.
The paper explores a study in which barium sulfate (BaSO₄) was incorporated into solder paste as a computed tomography or CT contrast agent to enable non-destructive visualization of flux residues underneath opaque components. The study was undertaken to explore alternatives to current methods of detecting ionic contamination under electronic components creating reliability risks in PCB assemblies.
The results of the study, which Klett will detail during his presentation of the paper, suggest exciting developments in the utilization of contrast agent-enhanced solder paste and its impact on flux residue detection without compromising assembly quality.
Through his role with KYZEN, Klett works to drive innovation in cleaning technologies in addition to being an active member of SMTA, serving on multiple committees and holding a position on the organization’s Global Board of Directors.
KYZEN cleaning experts, including Klett, represent decades of electronics cleaning expertise shared through events like the 2026 Pan Pacific Strategic Electronics Symposium.
