Federal Electronics, a leader in providing advanced electronic manufacturing services, has achieved IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with the Space Addendum, expanding its capabilities for cable and wire harness assemblies used in space and other mission-critical applications.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry standard for cable and wire harness acceptability, defining workmanship requirements for crimping, soldering, routing, and overall harness construction for Class 1, 2, and 3 products. The Space Addendum extends these requirements to address additional controls and verification practices specific to space applications, where reliability and consistency are essential.
“Achieving IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with the Space Addendum is an important step for our team,” said Ed Evangelista, President of Federal Electronics. “It reflects the level of discipline and attention to detail our customers expect when they trust us with programs that operate in environments where there is no margin for error.”
Certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 with the Space Addendum confirms that Federal Electronics’ personnel and processes meet the heightened expectations for workmanship, inspection, and traceability required in space and other high-reliability environments. The certification supports consistent practices from assembly through final inspection.
