Koh Young to Showcase AI-Powered Inspection Solutions and Reveal New Platforms at APEX EXPO 2026
February 9, 2026 | Koh YoungEstimated reading time: 4 minutes
Koh Young, the industry leader in True 3D measurement-based inspection solutions, will serve as the Premier Sponsor of APEX EXPO 2026, March 16 to 19 at the Anaheim Convention Center. At Booth 1824, Koh Young will demonstrate how AI-powered inspection and software solutions help electronics manufacturers improve stability and productivity amid tighter tolerances, higher mix production, and rising quality expectations.
With a wave of new innovations spanning software, algorithms, and inspection advancements, Koh Young will unveil multiple new machine platforms and major feature upgrades live at the booth. These new systems are reserved for the live debut when APEX opens, so the first real look happens where it matters, live at Booth 1824.
“Manufacturers are being asked to run faster, handle more variation, and maintain tighter quality standards, often with limited time to diagnose problems,” said Joel Scutchfield, General Manager at Koh Young America. “Our focus at APEX is to show how AI built on trusted True 3D measurement helps teams reduce noise, find root causes faster, and stabilize processes with confidence.”
AI-powered Software Tools that Work as One Ecosystem
Koh Young’s AI-powered solutions address specific points of friction in production, but they deliver the most value when they operate together as a connected ecosystem. At APEX EXPO 2026, visitors will see how these tools create a continuous improvement loop across the SMT line, helping teams shorten NPI cycles, reduce false calls, identify systemic issues, and stabilize processes before defects occur.
- KAP Auto Programming accelerates programming by using AI to automate the work required to build inspection programs. With shape-based recognition and robust libraries, engineers can reduce NPI time while maintaining consistent inspection quality across lines and products.
- Smart Review reduces one of the biggest drains on productivity: false calls. By guiding operators through consistent and accurate defect review, Smart Review reduces subjectivity, increases confidence, and helps teams focus attention where it matters most.
- KSMART serves as the decision layer, collecting and analyzing inspection data across the line and converting it into dashboards and trend analysis. It helps engineers identify systemic issues rather than isolated defects, revealing patterns such as intermittent placement drift or print variation tied to environmental changes across shifts, lines, and sites.
- KPO (Koh Young Process Optimizer) brings closed-loop optimization to both printing and placement. KPO Printer analyzes real-time inspection data, detects subtle changes in solder paste behavior, and supports automatic printer adjustment before defects appear, preventing issues instead of reacting downstream. For placement, KPO Mounter applies the same AI-driven approach using inspection feedback to detect emerging placement trends and support corrective action, reducing variation and improving stability across the full line.
When these solutions work together, inspection data becomes an invaluable resource. Variation becomes easier to control, processes become more stable, and engineers can move from firefighting to proactive control.
New Algorithms and Inspection Capabilities for Demanding Assemblies
Koh Young will preview algorithm-driven enhancements designed for today’s mixed-technology and higher-complexity builds, including:
- Through-hole and press-fit inspection advancements to strengthen coverage on challenging joints and reduce the risk of escapes and rework
- Improvements aimed at strengthening measurement stability and defect coverage as tolerances tighten and product mixes increase.
- Workflow enhancements that help teams detect drift earlier and shorten root-cause cycles.
New Machine Platforms and Feature Advancements
Koh Young will introduce multiple new systems and major platform upgrades at APEX EXPO 2026. Once revealed in person, the booth experience will center on outcomes manufacturers care about:
- Higher confidence measurement for process control and decision-making
- Expanded capability for complex assemblies and higher-mix production environments
- A stronger connection between results and action, including closed-loop optimization
New Software Platform
Koh Young will also preview the new Revolution to Success software platform, RtoS (pronounced “AHR-tohs”, like “dose”). This next-generation software platform unifies inspection functions in a flexible, intuitive environment to give operators a faster, clearer path to manage inspection data, and improve productivity.
We designed your visit to the Koh Young booth to deliver practical value, not just a product overview. When you visit us in the booth, you will gain:
- A clearer view of how AI built on True 3D measurement can reduce false calls, improve review consistency, and stabilize decision-making
- Practical examples of closed-loop optimization in printing and placement to prevent defects
- Insight into new inspection capabilities for challenging applications
- Direct access to Koh Young experts for focused discussions on stability, yield, and throughput
- An opportunity to be among the first to see Koh Young’s newest systems and capabilities as we reveal them live on the show floor
Koh Young invites electronics manufacturers, process engineers, quality leaders, and operations teams to plan dedicated time at Booth 1824 to experience AI-powered inspection solutions in action and see the newest innovations revealed throughout APEX EXPO 2026. Be among the first to see our new capabilities across programming, review, analytics, and closed-loop optimization to help you stabilize processes, reduce defects, and increase throughput.
