Neways, the global innovator in mission-critical technology for semicon, defense & mobility, and connectivity sectors, has started production and delivery of critical sub-systems for Saab’s UTAAS (Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System) integrated sight and fire control systems for BAE Systems’ CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
The deliveries build on the partnership established between Neways and Saab in 2024, and includes several key sub-systems for UTAAS for CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to several NATO countries, as well as testing of the complete UTAAS system for the Slovak Army.
Neways has already completed the first deliveries under the contract from its brand-new 22,000-square-meter production facility in Slovakia, underscoring Neways’ ability to industrialize and scale rapidly and meet accelerating customer requirements. The expansion of UTAAS production in Slovakia strengthens the local industrial footprint and supports the long-term sustainment of the CV90 fleet across multiple European nations.
Hans Büthker, CEO of Neways, comments: “I am proud that Neways can make a leading contribution to European defense-related product development and industrialization. This latest order from Saab marks an important next step in our partnership. Our new large-scale production facility in Slovakia is ideally set up to deliver Saab’s UTAAS products and to support Saab in its continued growth.”
