Transition Automation, Inc., the leading provider of high-performance metal squeegee blades and holder systems, has officially introduced the ProTEK 2900 Squeegee Storage & Cleaning System, a purpose-built solution designed to protect one of the most critical, yet often overlooked, components in SMT printing.
Originally launched at APEX EXPO 2026, the ProTEK 2900 is engineered to prevent damage and maintain the integrity of precision squeegees throughout handling, storage, and cleaning.
Built in the form factor of a 29" x 29" stencil frame, the ProTEK 2900 integrates seamlessly into existing SMT workflows. It fits directly into standard stencil racks for organized storage and can be loaded into stencil cleaning systems, allowing squeegees to be cleaned safely without risk of mishandling or damage.
Key features include:
- Protective carrier design that prevents edge damage and mishandling
- Printer-style locking mechanism to secure each squeegee in proper alignment
- Retractable, locking legs that create a stable, angled position for easy loading and unloading
- Dual-purpose functionality, optimized for both storage and cleaning processes
- Standard stencil frame compatibility for effortless integration into existing operations
“Everyone talks about print quality, but not everyone protects the tools that make it possible,” said Mark Curtin, Technical Support at Transition Automation. “The ProTEK 2900 allows manufacturers to extend squeegee life, reduce variability, and reinforce best practices on the production floor, without adding complexity.”
