Mycronic AB published its interim report for January to March 2026, delivering record-breaking results across key financial metrics despite a turbulent global environment.
Order intake for the first quarter reached SEK 2,529 million, up 23 percent compared to SEK 2,058 million in the same period last year. Net sales grew 17 percent to a new record of SEK 2,503 million, or 32 percent growth on constant exchange rates. EBIT came in at SEK 938 million, representing the company's strongest quarterly result to date, with an EBIT margin of 37 percent compared to 36 percent a year ago. Earnings per share were SEK 3.66 before and after dilution, up from SEK 3.18.
Outlook Raised for Full Year 2026
On the strength of these results and healthy demand across several divisions, the Board of Directors has revised its net sales outlook for 2026 upward, from approximately SEK 8.25 billion to approximately SEK 8.75 billion.
CEO Statement
President and CEO Anders Lindqvist commented that the company entered 2026 on a very strong note, with excellent order intake and records in both net sales and EBIT. Growth was driven by stellar performance in Global Technologies, with a notable contribution from High Volume. The delivery of the first Prexision 8000 Evo during the quarter was a significant milestone and contributed meaningfully to the record EBIT result.
Lindqvist also noted that photomask markets in Pattern Generators remained stable, while the acquisition of Cowin DST secured regulatory approval in South Korea. The company is now focused on integrating Cowin DST, which specializes in display panel repair and laser-based repair of display and semiconductor photomasks.
He acknowledged that PCB Assembly Solutions faced continued headwinds in Europe and a soft US market, with customers holding back orders pending firm commitments from their own clients. High Volume, on the other hand, saw strong demand in China, particularly from the consumer electronics sector and optical modules, a new market for the division. Assembly of the first machines at the new Thailand factory also began during the quarter.
Global Technologies saw strong performance in PCB Test, fueled by demand for advanced boards used in AI applications and investments across Southeast Asia. The Die Bonding business line also benefited from AI-driven data center expansion, with growing demand for high-end optical transceivers.
