TDK Corporation announces the establishment of the “TDK Shinano River Techno Factory” in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, with the aim of further expanding its sensor business.
This factory is intended for the production of TDK’s sensor product lineup, and the company plans to accelerate the “Custom Sensing Solutions” initiative currently being promoted in its sensor business.
In recent years, the spread of AI technology has rapidly expanded into the “Physical AI” domain, including robotics, smart infrastructure, and automation systems. As a result, the importance of sensors that acquire real-world data with high precision and in real time is increasing, and the AI ecosystem market, including sensors, is expected to expand over the medium to long-term.
In this environment, the demand for our sensor technologies, which are our strengths, is diversifying and becoming more sophisticated. By utilizing the newly acquired “TDK Shinano River Techno Factory” (tentative name) to implement our medium- to long-term growth strategy for sensor products, we believe we can contribute to the sustainable enhancement of corporate value.
Details such as the specific production capacity of the new factory will be considered in the future, but we plan to operate with a focus on building a system that can flexibly respond to future increases in demand.
