Omega EMS today announced that it successfully completed its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments and is actively addressing identified gaps in preparation for formal third-party CMMC Level 2 certification, targeted for completion in late Summer 2026, well ahead of the anticipated November enforcement timeline.
The milestone reflects Omega EMS's continued investment in secure manufacturing infrastructure, information security, and operational readiness in support of expanding defense, aerospace, and other security-sensitive customer programs.
Level 2 certification is specifically designed to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within the defense industrial base and will become an increasingly important requirement for organizations supporting Department of Defense programs.
As part of its cybersecurity and compliance initiative, Omega EMS has implemented a comprehensive IT and governance framework leveraging a range of enterprise-class platforms and partners, including Microsoft GCC High, CrowdStrike, NinjaOne, Vanta, Abnormal AI, and C3PAO advisory and audit support resources to help establish and validate compliance controls aligned with evolving Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.
“Cybersecurity and controlled information protection are now foundational requirements within advanced manufacturing,” said Chris Alessio, CEO of Omega EMS. “Completing our Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments and advancing toward formal Level 2 certification reflects our long-term commitment to supporting defense, aerospace, and other mission-critical customers requiring trusted U.S.-based manufacturing partners.”
The company noted that the current initiative is part of a broader operational enhancement strategy that includes expanded domestic manufacturing capabilities, advanced quality systems, secure engineering infrastructure, and continued growth within military and aerospace sectors.
Omega EMS expects to issue a follow-on announcement upon successful completion of formal CMMC Level 2 certification activities.
