Atg Mycronic GmbH and IEC USA confirm an order for an atg A7a, 8 head, double-sided, high speed, auto-load/unload system for true “lights-out” operation from PCB fabricator, Mega Circuit.
Mega Circuit has been one of the leading manufacturers of RF/Microwave and antenna printed circuit boards for the last 40 plus years with a state-of-the-art facility in Addison, Illinois, USA. They are AS9100D / ISO 9001:2008 Certified, ITAR registered and UL approved.
Mega Circuit vice president Paresh Patel commented, “This is one of the most rewarding investments in automation and technology for our test department. The ability to load a job and focus on other things during the day has freed up valuable employees to focus on other complex tasks while this machine does the testing and sorting. In fact, the lights out testing solution has paid dividends as it allows us to load this machine, go home and return to tested and sorted parts ready to move to the next operation.”
Atg’s A7a (auto-load/unload) testers utilize 8 flying probe test heads, multiple optical recognition systems, and a wide variety of advanced, high-speed electrical test measurement techniques to electrically test all types of PCBs for continuity and isolation. Board sizes of 24” x 21’ (or larger), with small pad/fine pitch technology can be tested quickly and easily. Special options, such as, 4-wire Kelvin tests, Hi-pot test, Latent defect test, and others can be provided.
