Finley Williams and Jaidon Bevan-German earned their places after an outstanding performance in the national qualifying rounds and will now compete against the UK's top young machinists at the finals, hosted by UWTSD at its SA1 Swansea campus during the week commencing 16 November.
As an official WorldSkills UK Organising Partner for CNC Milling and Additive Manufacturing, the university plays a key role in delivering national competitions that showcase technical excellence.
Following the successful hosting of the CNC Milling National Finals in 2025, UWTSD is once again welcoming the UK's best emerging talent, while continuing its long-standing record of student success at both national and international WorldSkills competitions.
The success also highlights the strength of UWTSD's growing partnership with TT Electronics, whose Abercynon site manufactures highly engineered electronic components for global markets including the defence and rail sectors.
Lee Pratt, Advanced Manufacturing Skills Academy Manager at UWTSD, said: “Seeing two TT Electronics apprentices reach the national finals is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment shown by the apprentices themselves, their employer and everyone involved in their development. We're proud to support competitors on their WorldSkills journey and are looking forward to welcoming finalists from across the UK to our SA1 campus this November.”
