Foxconn is expanding its U.S. presence with the acquisition of land and a manufacturing facility in Santa Clara, California, as the electronics manufacturing giant continues to invest in AI-related business.
As reported by Taiwan News, Foxconn subsidiary Q-Edge Corporation purchased two properties totaling approximately 10,000 square meters (about 108,000 square feet) for NT$1.77 billion, or approximately $55.25 million. The investment is expected to support Foxconn’s growing AI research and production activities in the United States.
The Santa Clara location places Q-Edge near several major semiconductor and AI companies, including Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. According to the report, the proximity could provide opportunities for Foxconn to work more closely with customers on the research and development of new AI products.
The acquisition follows Foxconn’s recent announcement of a NT$6 billion capital increase for Q-Edge, another indication that the company intends to expand its AI operations in the U.S.
Foxconn has been increasing both its research and manufacturing capabilities across several U.S. locations, including Texas, Wisconsin, Ohio, and California, while also pursuing expansion in Taiwan, Mexico, and Vietnam.
The company’s capital expenditures reached NT$80.9 billion during the first half of 2026. Foxconn executives expect full-year capital spending to increase by more than 30% compared with 2025 as the company invests to meet growing demand associated with AI infrastructure and manufacturing.
