I-Connect007 is pleased to announce the launch of On the Line With… Qnity: Engineering What’s Next, a new six-part podcast series exploring the materials science and engineering innovations shaping the next generation of electronics.
The inaugural episode, “Inside Qnity’s Materials Science Legacy,” features Jake Joo, global technology director for Advanced Flex Technologies. In conversation with host Marcy LaRont, Joo discusses Qnity’s heritage, the evolution of its Advanced Flex Technologies business, and the history behind well-known material platforms such as Kapton® polyimide films and Pyralux® flex circuit laminates and adhesive systems.
While Qnity is a new name in advanced electronics materials, the technology and expertise behind the company have been built over decades. Following its separation from DuPont in November 2025, Qnity carries that materials science legacy forward as a company focused exclusively on semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
The episode explores the role these materials have played in applications ranging from missions to Mars to today’s increasingly complex consumer electronics and AI systems. Joo also discusses how Qnity is building on this foundation to help OEMs and fabricators solve performance challenges at the system level.
Future episodes of Engineering What’s Next will explore materials for mission-critical reliability, PCB design for AI data centers, advances in flexible consumer electronics, thermal management for high-power systems, and sustainability in electronics design.
