NBS Adds 5th SMT Line
January 15, 2010 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SANTA ANA, CA — EMS provider NBS acquired and installed an additional SMT line at its headquarters facility in Santa Clara. This is the company’s fifth fully automated line.
The new line features Juki’s sixth generation KE 2070/2080 modular high speed placement system with on-the-fly laser centering and 16,000 CPH placement rate. This additional line further expands NBS’ capacity to accommodate volume assembly and all up-to-date package styles including 01005, 0201, 0402, QFP, QFN, ball grid array (BGA), microBGA, and chip scale packages.
“In 2009, NBS experienced more than a doubling in revenue growth,” reports president and CEO Michael Maslana, adding that NBS has a large and diverse customer base. He states that NBS capitalization and manufacturing techniques allow the Tier II EMS provider to successfully co-exist alongside volume production.
NBS provides end-to-end solutions that include services in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, production, supply chain and logistics, test, box build and systems integration. The company services technology businesses throughout the world and has facilities in Santa Clara and Santa Barbara, CA; Nashua, N.H.; and Jakarta, Indonesia. www.nbscorp.com
