GOLDBECK Solar GmbH acquires Gehrlicher Solar Services GmbH, effective retroactively as of April 1, 2015. With the acquisition of the service and system management businesses of PV-specialized Gehrlicher Solar Services, GOLDBECK expands its own O&M portfolio and assimilates one of the most technically competent and best-situated market leaders in Europe. For the Gehrlicher Group, the sale (after successfully establishing and positioning its service company) will enable it to focus efforts on international PV project development in new markets.
ʺIn GOLDBECK Solar we have found a partner that greatly values the technical competence and experience of our European service team. The family-owned enterprise aims to sustainably build the scope of our O&M business within the framework of a long-term growth strategy,ʺ commented Klaus Gehrlicher. The project spectrum managed by Gehrlicher Solar Services has an installed capacity of approximately 170 MWp, including rooftop and open land PV power plants in Germany and other European countries. In addition to providing support to clients through regular maintenance agreements, technical repair services and performance assurance play a significant role in Gehrlicher Solar service proposals.
Björn Lamprecht, Managing Director of GOLDBECK Solar, was pleased about the conclusion of the transaction and continuing growth, ʺThrough the acquisition of Gehrlicher Solar Services and its experienced management team, GOLDBECK strengthens its range of services and its O&M portfolio from a staffing, technical and geographical perspective. Gehrlicher Solar and its employees are an ideal complement for GOLDBECK, allowing us to offer our clients an even broader range of services and expand our O&M operations.ʺ
The terms of the contract were agreed to confidentially. IPONTIX Equity Consultants GmbH acted as financial advisor for GOLDBECK during the assessment and implementation of the transaction.
Partners at Gehrlicher Solar Services received legal counsel from the international law firm DLA PIPER during the transaction.
