Navitas Expands Manufacturing Capabilities
July 7, 2015 | Globe NewswireEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
During the first half of 2015, Navitas Electronics added senior leadership talent with experience working for high-profile organizations, such as Panasonic, Tyco, Morey Corporation, Dow Kokam, Chrysler, and Johnson Controls to oversee a more robust manufacturing, engineering and quality team. In addition to bringing seasoned management talent on board, Navitas has invested heavily in its manufacturing infrastructure. Navitas' facility in Woodridge, Illinois, is now equipped to handle medium-high volume printed circuit board and mechanical assembly manufacturing.
"Leadership has equipped us with the latest technology in manufacturing, enabling Navitas Electronics to provide innovative solutions and advancements to industry in real time. Over the last couple months alone, we have recently invested in new equipment, including a Panasonic CM Series Pick-n-Place machine, Glenbrook x-ray machines, ERSA automated BGA repair stations and full solder repair stations, PVA automated conformal coating machines and various other equipment," said States Mead, Navitas Electronics' vice president of manufacturing.
Earlier this year, the facility received its ISO 9001 recertification, and can manufacture product at IPC-A-610E Class 3 soldering standards. The facility features the latest technology and equipment to handle high volume and high complexity printed circuit board, wire harness and cable assembly needs.
"By adding top-level talent and state-of-the-art automated manufacturing equipment, Navitas has increased our utilization and capacity, added new services and improved our quality assurance to meet growing regional demands locally. We welcome current and potential partners to reach out, audit our capabilities, and further explore opportunities to work together," said Navitas Electronics' general manager Samer ElShafei.
Navitas Systems takes great pride in quality systems. In addition to consistently building defect-free products, the engineering team is trained in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to enhance the reliability of products through better design. Navitas understands that requirements change with little warning and have made flexibility part of their culture. The investment in people and manufacturing infrastructure ensures that Navitas maintains its innovative edge to adapt to their customers' changing needs.
