Sparton Receives 5-Star Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon
July 10, 2015 | Sparton Corp.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Sparton Corp. was recognized for its outstanding performance as a supplier to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) at the recent Supplier Excellence Conference held in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business instituted the annual Supplier Excellence Awards program to recognize suppliers who have provided outstanding service and partnership in exceeding customer requirements. Award candidates are judged on certain criteria, including overall quality, on-time delivery and demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. A 5-Star recognition is the highest level of recognition a Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business supplier can achieve for excellence in quality and performance, and Sparton was one of 12 companies selected.
In addition to achieving the 5-Star Award for performance in 2014, Sparton was recognized for its performance in the Affordability category with a Bronze Award. The special Affordability award recognizes the recipient for working in partnership with Raytheon to identify cost reduction opportunities and ensure market competitiveness for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense program.
Sparton's Plaistow, New Hampshire facility supplies sub-assemblies for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, Zumwalt Class Destroyer, and THAAD & AN/TPY-2 Radar Systems programs.
"Receiving this prestigious honor three years in a row is a remarkable achievement," said Jamie Shaddix, Group Vice President Mil/Aero Manufacturing Services for Sparton Corporation. "Achieving a 100% score on these challenging metrics in a single year is difficult enough, but to do it three years running is extraordinary. This award validates the effectiveness of the Sparton Production System and exemplifies our employees’ dedication to excellence," he added.
